Welcome to the Harlem Renaissance:
"I swear to the Lord, I still can't see, why Democracy means, everybody but me."
The Harlem Renaissance marked a cultural boom of African American expression. In the 1920's, Harlem was the heart of the city, and the intellectual and artistic expansion's of the "New Negro Movement". There was positive societal movement where racist stereotypes were getting destroyed and communities were coming together.
Jazz music floated through the air, and poets words were biting at society, the place to go was the Cotton Club!
